Richard Ruben
BIO
Richard Ruben, founder of United Taste™, is a chef, cookbook author, cooking teacher, writer and food consultant. A graduate of the California Culinary Academy, Ruben spent years traveling and working in Asia and Australia before moving back to his hometown of New York. In 2003, the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), honored him with their 2003 Award of Excellence Cooking School Teacher of the Year. Ruben’s green market classes are chronicled in his cookbook, The Farmer’s Market Cookbook, published by The Lyons Press, fall 2000. This book was awarded Best of the Best 2000 by Food & Wine. Ruben authors the blog www.UnitedTaste,blogspot.com with the goal of keeping the food community up-to-the-moment on the season’s best offerings, and how to use them. Ruben has worked for both corporate and private clients (Apple Computer, Bloomingdale's, Barnes and Noble, Calvin Klein Cosmetics, Quest International, Givaudan, Unilever, OXO, All Clad, Condé Nast, Oxygen Media, Food and Wine Magazine). He has appeared on the Food Network and Fine Living Network; the nationally syndicated, American Journal; NBC’s Later Today, The Jane Pauley Show and the Home Shopping Network as well as WOR Radio’s, Food Talk and Martha Stewart’s Sirus Radio.
